In the late 1980s AMG saw an opportunity to market their own series of stretched limousines based on the Mercedes-Benz 560SEL (W126) and so they added to their catalogue three different sized stretched S-classes; versions streched by 30, 65 and 110cm. The conversions were mainly built for the Japanese market.

The interior. This 30cm AMG 560SEL Limousine used stardard Mercedes-Benz seating in black MB leather. The doorpanels are standard too, with the extra lenght panels also covered in the same fashion. Note that AMG chose not to place a window in this middle section, something we would also see from Trasco Bremen. The 30cm extra length was mainly used to create more legroom, the foldable tables and TV/Video setup was also seen in standard length 560SELs.

The interiors of most stretched AMG 560SEL Limousines were functionally luxurious as was the trend in the late 1980s; this 110cm stretch shows a vis-á-vis seating arangement with a full length centre console that contains a TV / Video system, car phone, foldable tables, and a cooled beverage compartment. Seating was kept in original Mercedes-Benz velours upholstery, with the centre console wrapped in leather.
