LOTEC was founded by Kurt Lotterschmidt, a racing driver from Germany. The company mainly focussed on Turbo-charging, with many conversions made by LOTEC based on Mercedes-Benz (W201, W124, W126 and R129) and Porsche (911 and 928) automobiles. Other brands were also covered however, including Ferrari (Testarossa, 348) and even Opel. Ferdinand Pietz was the behind the engine-tech, somewhat the Franz Albert of LOTEC.
LOTEC was also responsible for engine-tuning cars of other tuners, like the Twin-Turbo setup for the mid- to late 1990s Gemballa Porsches.
LOTEC eventually changed into a company named TTP Automotive GmbH (Turbo Technik Pietz), named after the engineer who was already responisble for the engine, Ferdinand Pietz.
